Music

Why music?

well music plays a huge role in my life. i have been saved by music many times over and over again i can truly say that music is literally magic itself! you can make a sound, add rhythm and bam! you have music. BUT  its not good music. i wanted to make this one category talking about the GOOD music. that does not mean that I mean everything i listen to is good i’m only saying that some music we listen to has no musical elements and absolutely no quality at all. so i’ll try my best to tell you guys as a musician and a music composer what good music actually is.

how to recognize good music?

the easiest way for doing that is to understand what was the point of the music? what did the creator aim for when creating this music? well thanks to websites like https://genius.com you can find out about the background of thousands and thousands of musics from many genres, so doing that you can now understand what the music is about you have to start listening to it. well? theres only two ways from now on. 1- after listening to the music carefully and knowing what the creator wanted to say, you did in fact feel the same way from the music OR 2- the music you have just listened carefully to had nothing to do with the aim and target of the creator and gave no such feels. if it was the first one, then great! you have found a good artist and it’s only a matter of subject that the artist talks about but if it’s 2, you need to look for more artists and not this one or at least not this particular music from him/her. because if the artist can’t achieve what he/she wants then that isn’t a good artist. sometimes their not even artists, now lets be honest, remixing a song that someone else has created won’t make you a great artist. you might have made something cool but if it was all your content then it would have been a lot cooler. so to sum it up : if you are looking for a good artist; know their goal and know that did they achieve it in their work or not.

art is subjective

thats more like stating the most obvious. i might be into this type of art and you might be into another, that doesn’t mean that any of them are actually bad, it only means that you and the other friend have different point of view on things and that is totally fine. so that means that you should not follow the trend that is going on, and listen to the things others listen to because if a song is popular it does not mean that its good. let’s be more open with this subject, if despacito had billions of views on youtube or if gangnam style had billions of views on youtube again, it doesn’t make it the greatest song in history, if an artist or an album you never heard of won Grammy awards it doesn’t make it any better, because Grammy awards aren’t even made to give great awards to great artists, they are mainly created to give awards to the lesser known artists to give them  a chance of success, that is it. so please don’t follow trends, its just not going to get you anywhere.

what type of music is the most suitable for me?

OK the most hardest to answer, the thing is that there might not even be one. you might be just like thousands of other music lovers around the world a total neutral to everything. you might finally find your favorite artist but not your favorite style however that shouldn’t stop you from searching for it. go out there and search for any genre that you could think of and don’t restrict yourself to only one artist, for example. i love Micheal Jackson’s works, RIP, but that never made me a fan of pop music because MJ was doing something way above any other pop artist now, before his time or at his time. he was a totally different deal from any other artist, and that made me a fan of HIM, not his genre of music, to find your perfect genre you have to different artists in that genre good or bad and if you liked all of them then you can call yourself a fan of that genre. you have to have the courage to listen to different things and to try out new things to finally reach a conclusion and please for the love of god, don’t turn into one of those people who judge something from its cover or only its sound, go out there and search for the true meaning behind stuff in songs and in music. but as i said you might never find a favorite genre and that is totally fine.

i hope it helped. comment down below for thoughts and opinions and anything that i might have missed
